On January 26, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Pvt. Richard Taylor, Camp 53, met for the first time in 2004.  Camp Commander Hinze brought the Camp to order and Brother Gordon Cottrell opened the meeting with prayer.  Brother Pearce then led the Camp in the Pledge of Allegiance and Brother Hogan led the Camp in the America’s Creed.

 

Camp business: 

The Date for Dept of Tennessee Encampment is set for February 28, 2004.

 

Dues of $25 for the year January 2004 through December 2004 are now due.  Fees include, $18 to National, $2 to the Department, $3 for Sons of Veterans Reserve, and $2 to the Camp for Camp activities.  Make checks out to SUVCW and send dues to Steve Pearce 106 Sunnyfield Drive, Madison Al 35758.

 

Next meeting, Monday February 23, 2004, 7:00 P.M., at Highlands United Methodist Church, 3921 Broadmor Road, Huntsville, Alabama.  See camp webpage under Directions and maps to meeting for driving information.

 

From the Secretary: As of January 31, 2004, the Camp consists of 21 members, which includes one life member.  The Camp also reports one additional Junior member.

 

From the Treasurer:  As of January 31, 2004, the Camp checking account reports a balance of $311.72 and the saving account maintains an additional balance of $25.00.
