OLD BUSINESS:

The minutes of the February 28 meeting were read and approved.  Brother Hintze announced that we currently have 19 paid members for 2005.

Brother Hogan gave the Graves Registration Report.  The SUCVW Graves Database is now online on the National Web Site.  There are a lot of duplicate names.  Brother Hogan also announced that the VA can replace Family Head Stones.  This includes head stones for Confederate Soldiers.

Brother Hackett announced that he sent certified letters to all brothers in arrears.  The camp voted on and discharged 4 Brothers who have not paid in 2005.

Plans for Memorial Day were discussed.  We will again hold our ceremony at Maple Hill Cemetery.  The 42nd Indiana will again be the Color Guard.

Brother Hogan proposed that we put a headstone in Maple Hill honoring the 600 soldiers who were buried there and later re-interred elsewhere.  This has been discussed with Brenda Webb.  Permission from the City will be required.

The Sultana Monument in Knoxville was discussed.  Department of Tennessee Commander Shawn Atchley, DC and Department Chaplain Clyde Gettman, PDC have been contacted.

The Scholarship program was discussed.  It was suggested having a dinner or Breakfast with the proceeds going to a Scholarship fund.  Also, Brother Hackett proposed selling Post Cards as a fundraiser.

The Department Encampment was discussed.  A decision has yet to be made between Calhoun and Highlands Methodist Church.

NEW BUSINESS:

Brother Greene has agreed to serve as the Eagle Scout Coordinator.  A draft of the Camp bylaws was discussed.  Suggested corrections were made.  Brother Hackett will update the Bylaws and send the new draft out to the Brothers.

Brother Cottrell gave the Benediction and the Camp was adjourned.

Next meeting, April 25, 2005, 7:00 P.M., at Highlands United Methodist Church
