The meeting was opened by Brother Milam at 7:00 P.M. on 29 July 2002.  Brother Cottrell led in prayer, Bother Davis led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Brother Hacket read the American Creed.

 

Old business:  The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.

 

New Business: 

Topper Birney was our speaker.  Mr. Birney spoke about his distinguished family including his great-great Uncle Maj. Gen David B. Birney and his g-g-grandfather Brig Gen. James Birney.

 

Two pictures will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Camp.  The pictures, Battle of Fredericksburg, and Battle of Fair Oaks, can be seen on the Camp webpage, under Photos for Auction.  The direct URL is http://pvtrichardtaylor.bizland.com/pvtrichardtaylorcamp53/id9.html

Checking Account Balance $210.72

Savings Account $25.00

Camp Total on Hand as of August 19, 2002      $235.72

Estimated Disbursements through December 31, 2002= $186.00

 

 

Secretary’s Report

Camp has 28 Members that includes, 1 Life Member, 1 Junior Member, 2 Members holding dual membership with another Camp.

 

Next Meeting August 26, 2002, 7pm, Highlands United Methodist Church.
