Special Meeting note for July 29, 2002:  Topper Birney, the great grandson of Gen. William Birney, will speak about his great grandfather (and about his great grandfather's brother, Gen. David Birney).  This is quite a coup for our camp, and we hope that you will make your plans to attend.  Please relate this information to any interested parties and/or prospective members.

Meeting opened by Brother Milam at 7:00 P.M. on 24 June 2002.

Chaplain Cottrell led us in prayer Brother Milam led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Brother Hogan read the American Creed.

Old business:  The  previous meeting was the Memorial Day Program.  As no official business took place, there were no minutes.

New Business:

Brother Hogan asked who had our copy of the History of the 42nd Indiana.

Brother Hogan read an article from the Mercury (March 1, 1901) describing President McKinley coming to Huntsville and being honored by the GAR and the Edgar Jones Sons Confederate Veterans.

Brother Hogan passed out Grave registration forms.  He has 142 names from Boulder Col he wants to send in.

It was decided to delay picking company for 42nd Ind.

The August Program will be Brother Hackett on Battle of Antietam.

The library has Adjutant reports for Ohio and Wisconsin that are in bad shape.  A donation was made to get Ohio rebound.  An action was taken to ask Renee Pruitt for a quote on rebinding Wisconsin and other Adjutant reports the library has.

Brother Hogan showed a film on Appomattox.

Brother Cottrel closed the meeting with a benediction.

Brother Pearce asked the Camp Brothers to provide write-ups on their Union Ancestor along with a picture if one is available.  Brother Pearce has a scanner if someone has a picture that needs to be converted into an electronic format.
