May 2002 Activities.

On May 5, 2002, the annual Maple Hill Cemetery Stoll was conducted for the public.  Brother Hogan portrayed General Johnson, Brother Gaddy served as Captain James Bone, and Brother Steve Pearce acted the part of Samuel Sweinhart.

A Memorial Day ceremony was held May 27, 2002 at Maple Hill Cemetery, instead of the May evening meeting.  The Camp assembled at the Captain James Bone grave at 9:30 am, and marched with the 42nd Indiana Reenactment Company to the Hummel grave at 10:00 am.  After the Memorial Day ceremony the Camp held its annual Memorial Day lunch at the park behind Maple Hill.  (When the pictures are available they will be posted to the webpage)

Sickness and distress:

Brother Joe Johnson’s mother is ill and in nursing care.  Brother Johnson’s father is recovering from a stroke.

Brother Pearce asked the Camp Brothers to provide write-ups on their Union Ancestor along with a picture if one is available.  Brother Pearce has a scanner if someone has a picture that needs to be converted into an electronic format.

Next Meeting June 24, 2002, 7pm, Highlands United Methodist Church.
