Junior Vice Commander: Brother Topper Birney

Secretary/Treasurer: Brother Geoffrey Hintze

 

Commander Jenness will fill the appointed Camp positions in the coming weeks.

Minutes of 30 October 2006 meeting of Pvt. Richard Taylor Camp 53.

 

In attendance were Commander Hackett, Brother Burke, Brother Hintze, Brother Hogan, Brother Wright, Brother Olcott, Brother Jenness, Brother Pearce, Brother Birney, Brother Billings, and Brother Cottrell,

 

Commander Hackett opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Highlands Methodist Church. Brother Cottrell opened the meeting with the invocation; Brother Jenness led the Camp in the Pledge and Brother Birney led in the Creed.

The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved.

 

Brother Hintze reported that he contacted Brother Bennett, Department of New York, concerning GAR Markers.  Currently, the Department of New York is selling Aluminum Markers for $17.00.

 

Commander Hackett and Brother Hogan discussed the Raffle that the Garfield Camp, Department  of Ohio is having.  Tickets are $2 a piece, 3 for $5.

 

The Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday, November 11.  Brother Burke will provide the truck.  Brothers are to meet at 9 AM near Golds Gym off Clinton Street.   (See Camp webpage General Camp Photos http://pvtrichardtaylor.bizland.com/id15.html for picture of those who attended)

 

Brother Burke discussed using the Alabama Space and Rocket Center for the Department Encampment.  The only concern was the up front cost and the unknown attendance.  Brother Hintze agreed to ask the Department Secretary, Brother Butler, to contact the camps   to find out who will attend.  The final decision will be made at the November 30 meeting.

 

Commander Hackett’s wife brought a cake and we celebrated Commander Hackett’s birthday.

 

Election of officers was held.

 

Brother Cottrell closed the Camp with the benediction.
