From the Commander:

The three hottest items to be taken care of at Monday night's meeting are the Veteran's Day parade, the Department Encampment, and the annual election.  I encourage everyone attend so we can determine how many will be participating in the parade and the number of vehicles that will be needed.  WAFF has been emailing me requesting numbers, etc and I have been stalling for time.  If we are going to do this, I must give them the information this week.

CinC Paul has accepted Dept. Commander Hintze's invitation to attend the Department Encampment.  We need to hammer out as many details as possible on Monday to make sure that things will go smoothly.  The more Brothers that attend on Monday the easier it will be to make this a memorable encampment.

The annual election of officers also has to be held this Monday. I cannot stress enough how important it is for everyone to be there for this.  If you'd like to fill a position or wish to nominate someone, this is the opportunity. In accordance with the Camp By-Laws, a new commander must be elected this year; so the status quo won't work. If you have not been able to make meetings all year, this is the one you should make every effort to attend to help determine the direction of the Camp.

In the words of Horace Greely, "Go West, young man!". Brother Greene moved to Oklahoma this past week.  He was a most valuable member of the Taylor Camp and we will miss him.  However, our loss is the Dept. of Oklahoma's gain.  We wish Perry and his family a safe journey and all the best in their new adventure.

See you Monday.

In attendance were Commander Hackett, Brother Burke, Brother Hintze, Brother Hogan, and Brother Cottrell,

Commander Hackett opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Highlands Methodist Church. Brother Cottrell opened the meeting with the invocation; Brother Jenness led the Camp in the Pledge and Brother Hogan led in the Creed.

The minutes of the August meeting were read and approved.

Brother Hogan reported nothing new with Graves Registration.  Brother Hintze was given the action to contact Brother Bennett to price 11 more GAR markers.

Commander Hackett announced that he had gotten raffle tickets from the Garfield camp.  This should help our fund raising.  Cost is $1 per ticket, 6 for $5.00.

It was decided to have the Department Encampment on Jan 27, 2007 at either the Elks Lodge or the Space and Rocket Center.  A list of accommodations and a program needs to be worked out.

Brother Cottrell closed the Camp with the benediction.
