Filling in for Brother Milam was Brother Steve Pearce who
opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. on 26 August 2002. Brother Geoffrey Hintze led in prayer, Bother Johnson led the
Pledge of Allegiance, and Brother Hogan read the American Creed.
Old business: The minutes from the
previous meeting were approved.
New Business:
A trip to Andersonville was
discussed with a date to be determined at a later time.
Two pictures will be auctioned off
with the proceeds going to the Camp.
The pictures, Battle of Fredericksburg, and Battle of Fair Oaks, can be

Brother
Brian Hogan discussed the progress of the Graves Registration Project with a
goal of each member registering at least ten graves of Civil War Veterans.
Discussion
and agreement that the Camp wishes to participate in the November Veterans Day
parade in Huntsville. Brother Glenn
Bracken to be contacted on whether he can arrange us a position.
Brother David
Milam suggested and it was agreed to hold the next meeting on Saturday
September 28, at 4pm, at the home of Brother Milam. Directions follow the report.
Next meeting will be the election of new officers.
The
October meeting will be at the home of Brother Bill Hollis and his wife
Sue. The time is 3-5 pm, October 19,
rain or shine. Directions follow the
report. The Camp will install new
officers at this meeting.
Sickness
and Distress: Brother Joe Johnson’s
parents doing much better.
Brother
Hackett gave a slide presentation on Antietam American’s Bloodiest Day.”
The
meeting was closed at 8:45 by Brother Bill Hollis in prayer..

Go north
from Huntsville on AL highway 53
Take a
right on Old Railroad Bed Road and continue through the flashing light 1 mile
from the intersection of Old Railroad Bed Road and AL 53. This will be just past the Volunteer Fire
Dept. Continue on Old Railroad Bed Road until you see a small rock wall at the
intersection of Old Railroad Bed Road and Dan Crutcher Road. Take the left. Continue on Dan Crutcher to the top of the hill and the first
small gray house on the right shall be the one.

The October Meeting/Installation of Officers
will be at Sue and Bill Hollis' home on Brindley mountain at 171 Buzzards
Bottom Private Drive. (Directions to follow). We will do this
on Saturday, October 19. The time will be from 3 to 5pm. Rain
or Shine. Please bring or wear some
sturdy shoes if you want to go on a short hike in the woods (we have some
beautiful rock formations and a few trails).
Bill and I will make chili and provide hot
dogs. We will make ice tea (sweet or
unsweet) and lemonade and coffee and have ice. Please have everyone bring
a covered dish to share. Please bring a lawn chair. Ask if anyone has a
croquet set; the kids can bring frisbees or a ball to play with. We have
about 4 acres of cut lawn to play on and a dog that likes to run.
