Minutes
of 31 March 2008 meeting of Pvt. Richard Taylor Camp 53.
In attendance were Commander Jenness,
Brother Hintze, Brother Hogan, Brother Wright, and Brother Cottrell,
Commander Jenness opened the meeting at
7:00 p.m. at the Highlands Methodist Church. Brother Cottrell opened the meeting with the invocation, Brother Hogan led the
Camp in theAmerica Creed and Brother Hintze led the camp in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the Dec meeting was read
and approved. The current balance is $453.86.
The tree purchased for Maple Hill was
discussed. Brother Hogan said it will be shipped in April. Brother Hogan suggested that we dedicate the tree on Memorial Day.
The tree will be in honor of Gen. David Bell Birney.
The camp has scheduled two JROTC award
ceremonies. Huntsville High School will be on May 1 and Butler High School will
be on May 7.
Brother Hogan has a friend who moves about
the country and looks for graves of Civil War soldiers. He sent Brother Hogan
a number of graves in Oregon. Brother Hogan will record them.
Brother Cottrell closed the Camp with the benediction.
